Sonos can access files shared from a PC running Windows 7 and higher, from a Mac running OS X 10.9 and higher, or from a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device that supports the Common Internet File System (CIFS).

Sonos supports a number of audio formats at various sample rates and bitrates including many of those used by Apple iTunes and Windows Media Player.
